HOW WE WRITE & REVIEW

Our Editorial Policy

How the Odisha Arthritis & Rheumatology Center (OARC) writes, checks and updates the health information on this website.

Why we publish health information

Many people search online before they see a doctor. We want the information on odishaarthritis.com to be accurate, easy to understand and honest about what it can and cannot do. Our pages explain common joint, muscle and autoimmune conditions, help you recognise warning signs, and tell you which kind of doctor to see.

Our health pages are for general information only. They are not a diagnosis and do not replace a consultation with a doctor who can examine you.

Who writes our content

Our pages are written by the OARC Editorial Team in plain language, aimed at patients and families. We do not name a doctor as the author of a page unless that doctor actually wrote it.

Who reviews our content

Medical pages are reviewed by our expert team at OARC

The reviewer checks that each page:

  • agrees with current clinical guidelines and mainstream medical evidence;
  • describes symptoms, tests and treatments accurately, without promising results;
  • gives clear advice on when to seek urgent care;
  • describes only services OARC actually offers.

When a review is complete, the page shows the reviewer’s name and the date of the review. A page marked “Review pending” has been written but its medical review date has not yet been recorded. We keep an internal log of each review: the page, the reviewer, the date and the changes made.

Sources we use

We base our content on trusted, publicly available sources, and list the main ones at the end of each medical page. These include:

  • clinical guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE, UK);
  • recommendations from the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and EULAR (the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology);
  • classification criteria from expert groups such as ASAS (the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis international Society);
  • patient information from the NHS (UK);
  • guidance from the Indian Rheumatology Association where available, and peer-reviewed medical journals.

We do not state statistics, success rates or outcomes unless they come from a reliable source that we cite.

How often we update pages

We aim to review every medical page at least once every 12 months, and sooner when an important guideline changes or a reader reports a problem. The review date shown on each page tells you when it was last checked.

Corrections and feedback

If you think something on our website is wrong, out of date or unclear, please tell us. Email oarcmanagement@gmail.com or call +91 93386 53086. We will check the concern with the reviewing doctor and correct confirmed errors as soon as possible.

Please do not send personal medical questions through this route. For advice about your own health, book an appointment or contact us.

Advertising and conflicts of interest

OARC is a private clinic. Our pages describe services we offer, and we say so openly. We aim to give balanced information, including when another type of specialist, such as an orthopaedic surgeon, is more suitable, and when to go to an emergency department.

  • We do not accept paid advertising or sponsored content on this website.
  • We do not accept payment from pharmaceutical or device companies to promote products in our content.
  • We avoid unverifiable claims such as “best” or “number one”.

Patient stories and reviews

We do not edit or rewrite patient reviews. Where we show reviews, we link to them as published on Google or quote them word for word with the reviewer’s displayed name.
